Boko Haram sect have killed 9 Chadian soldiers and wounded 16 in Northeastern Nigeria, the Chadian army revealed today, Thursday, April 2.
The troops were ambushed by Boko Haram insurgents.
An army spokesperson said the attack on Wenesday took place about 10 kilometers ( six miles) from the town of Malam Fatori, which Nigeria said had been retaken from the militants by regional forces earlier this week.
A spokesperson for the Chadian government claimed that soliders from Chad and Niger on Tuesday, March 31, drove Boko Haram terrorists from a Northern Nigeria border town which they have occupied since 2014.
The town of Malam Fatori, which was taken by Boko Haram on November, had been the scene of fighting between coalition forces and the militants, and military sources incorrectly claimed to have recaptured it in January.
