Fuel Tanker Catches Fire At Murtala Muhammed International Aiport Lagos

On Wednesday evening,there was panic at the domestic wing of the Murtala Muhammed Internatiinal Airport in Lagos as a tanker suspected to be carrying aviation fuel burst into flames while in motion.



 According to reports gathered by Punch, the tanker with plate number MUX165XX caught fire at Strabag Bus Stop opposite the Terminal 2 of the airport.


An eyewitness said that the tanker was carrying flammable liquid suspected to be avaition fuel before it caught fire.


 The fire was, hoowever, immediately put out by a combined team of the tanker driver, officials from the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, passers-by and Lagos State Traffic Management Agency official.

 Their prompt intervention, halted the spread of the fire to other vehicles.


The tanker, which had the inscription, "Heizol," on its side, was said to be on its way out of the airport when the incident happened.


 The incident caused traffic on the road and officials of FAAN and LASTMA had to control vehicular mocements in a bid to reduce the congestion on the busy road.
