INEC Declares Taraba State Governorship Election Inconclusive

According to NAN, the entire result from Donga Local government area were cancelled while that of some polling units in Bali, Takum, Wukari Ussa, Yorro and Zing suffered a similar fate.


INEC Returning Officer for the election, Mohammed Kyari made the announcement on Monday in Jalingo.

He said that Darius Ishahu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) polled 3117,198 votes while Aisha Alhassan of the All Progressive Congress (APC) scored 262,386 votes.

Ishaku also stated that the total number of cancelled votes stood at 127,125 which according to him, exceeds the marginal difference of 54,812 votes between the scores of the PDP and APC candidates.

Reacting to the development, the PDP agent Rebo Usman, expressed displeasure over the cancellation of the entire results from Donga LGA without justification.

 The APC agent; Alhaji Gambo Umar, however said the action was justified.
 
 Mohammed Kyari said the re-run election between Darius Ishaku and Aisha Alhassan would be held within 30days in the areas where votes were cancelled.
